It's time to start reveling in my 30th year.

I just turned 30. A few days before yesterday. I have celebrated my birthday with family and friends at least four times, i am very blessed. I think that going home and feeling all of the love there and then coming back to Kansas City and feeling all of the love here has made me really start appreciating what i have on a whole other level. I am happy and for this very moment content. We'll see how i feel in another minute or two. Today has been a day of relaxing and resting and just taking some time to myself. I don't do this nearly enough. I keep so busy that i am constantly feeling worn down and tired. My thirties are going to be more selfish than my twenties. No more over-extending. No more. So what's new? Well, i have gone from playing on two soccer teams a week to one. Once a week I write and record silly songs with two of my friends. weekends are going to be for hanging around outside and lazily keeping my apartment tidy. I will get my freelance done and hopefully get more freelance. I will take one night a week and doodle. I will stop being a crutch, i will stop feeling like i need to do a thousand things , and i will stop allowing anything to hinder me! With all of that said i think that my thirties are going to be even better than my twenties. I've let go of some pretty hefty baggage and am ready to move on to the next great chapter of my life, whatever that may be.

Angel Face

Here is the faux tattoo that i drew on my hand during
my flight from LAX to MCI. If you are wondering
why i wrote Angelface on my hand it's because it's
my newest nickname.

Actual Angelface

Recently I was told that I had an Angelface, even
though deep down i'm not completely an angel but
more of a shady person. This picture, that I took of
myself, hopefully will show how angelic my face is.
Nevermind the comments that may come about
saying that even though I photoshopped my tiny
horns out you can still see them.

LAX tattoo

Here is what I did while I was waiting for my flight back to KC. This one took me maybe an hour and a half. Give or take.

faux tattoos

Here are some pictures of one of my tattoo drawings.
I'll never be bored as long as i have plenty of Sharpies
and plenty of things to draw on.

Mouse Ears

This is Lauren and I with our weird mouth faces at Bret's birthday lunch.

Joshy and his totally awesome mouse ears. He made that pattern for Bret. Very sweet Baby Joshy.

Lauren and Joshy super excited about churros at Bret's going away party.

Rachel and Joshy. His smile don't stop.

Me and Ann. I think we were wearing basically the same thing that day.

Disneyland Pics September 2009

Here is the Small World ride at Disneyland. It was a really pretty day. Kinda hot and steamy but still nice. Took me more than an hour to get that music out of my head.

Me, Jackie, and Bret. I really love this picture of Jackie and I.
We all had such a good time.

Aaron, Joshy, and Jackie. At that point of the day Joshy was just over it! (jk) Aaron however was ready for more!

I also went to Disneyland with my Dad (and Mom and Sis and Bro-in-law and niece's) for his birthday. I have more pics I just haven't made them post ready yet.

Cowboy Aaron

This is really the only good pic from Aaron's birthday party that I have. I think it's a pretty good one. That night I had many cherry cokes and danced on that big beautiful dance floor pretty much all night. We went to Denim and Diamonds. Even though I forgot my best Dolly Parton wig at home and my little red boots were at the shoe repair I still had a really good time.

Mini Cakes

More cupcakes! These are miniature yellow cakes with peanut butter frosting and Ghiradelli chocolate frosting. I forget why i made these, i think it was for a movie night. Chinese food and PB Cupcakes.

Birthday Cupcakes

Cupcakes!!! I made these for my friend Kristy's birthday.

More Cupcakes.

a couple of detail pics.

Packages

This is my dear friend Amanda's baby Ruby's first birthday package from me.
(Manders -- i understand if you'd like me to remove it from the web, just let me know)

Here is a package that i sent to my Aunt & Uncle.
They have a beautiful cat named Prince Andrew.
That drawing is pretty much right on the money.
If you guys didn't know already i love to draw on pretty much everything.

I'm a slacker………

Well, i've been a little M.I.A. with my blog, but now i'm back. This weekend was spent quarunteened in my apartment because I had a sinus cold. So much fun. It was like have a party filled with medication, tissues, and a whole lot of mucus. So this weekend has been an awesome time for watching whatever movies are on television. When you're sick you don't feel like doing simple things like putting movies in your DVD player. So what did i watch this weekend you ask? Well let me tell you… the Goonies (a classic), Cheaper by the Dozen (to date i feel like i've seen this movie more than a dozen times, haha), Catwoman (i had decided before i saw this movie that it would be bad, really bad, and yeah I wasn't disappointed), I watched the end of Spy Kids and was surprised to find out that George Clooney had a tiny part in the movie. What else…hmmm…the Incredibles, one of my favorite animated movies. That's all that i can remember, though i know that there were more. Currently I am watching the Discovery channel which is showing back to back episodes of the Smallest People in the World, which is so fascinating. I don't understand, though, why are there commercials about visiting Missouri when I live in Missouri. So weird. Anyway, that's all for now.

Some Random pics

This is a portrait that Adam drew on my arm one evening at kickball. It's a portrait of our friend Tom (a surprisingly accurate depiction). Priceless.

One of my temporary tattoo drawings. I miss having the time to do this.

Hot Tony. Are all Irish men this good looking?

Lily, when she was still a pup and not yet able to lay me down flat on the ground with a single bound. Her cute little tail is like a whip now! Where does the time go?

Home………………on a clear day, you can see forever.

Ummmm………

I am procrastinating tonight. Why??? I have no idea. I seem to have really bad ADD right now. I need to pack and prepare for flying home. Tomorrow night is the last party for 2009 and the last time I will see most of my Kansas City friends until the next year. Weird. And so crazy to think about. I hope it doesn't snow again until after I leave. I wonder who my Secret Santa is?

CHRISTMAS!!!!!! & CALI!!!!!!!!

Well, well, well, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! I have just finished all of my Christmas shopping and I feel so relieved! I am really, really looking forward to packing all of these wonderful gifts, every year it's kind of a test. A test to see how clever I can be with getting everything that I need into the least amount of luggage. It has been so dry and windy here, I am looking forward the fog and the smog! I can't wait to be home for such a long time, to be able to spend some real quality time with my family, and to celebrate the season with all of my California loved ones. I am excited to see my bro, who I call Skittles, who will be making the trip down from San Fran. I look forward to wearing sandals and eating In'N'Out and seeing all of my niece's, including the littlest, Ruby. I can't wait to give everyone hugs and kisses and to be able to say to them, "i'll see you tomorrow", "or in a few days". This time of year is what I look forward to the most. I am so very blessed to be able to go home and for such a long time. Currently I am as Happy as a little clam, the anticipation is so enjoyable. I wish everyone who is traveling a safe and stress free voyage and for everyone to have a wonderfully happy and blessed time with their loved ones!

Disneyland Pics

My Mom & Kylie -- so precious!

This ornament was the size of my face!

The Grois family (Brianna, Marty, Kylie, & Kelli)

This was breakfast at Disneyland, what does it look like to you?

Big Sissy/Little Sissy

Somewhere a turkey is missing a leg…

"I'm just not that into it."

(sigh)

Let's just throw ourselves from one holiday to the next shall we…

I kinda feel like that. After Halloween it's like, Let the Games Begin! Crazy. Whew, well I just want to say that my time at home was really nice, and warm, but nice, and did I mention warm? Yeah, I'm staring it off like that. I love being around my family. I Love being around my friends. I miss all of my niece's (Brianna, Marti-Rae, Kylie, & Ruby Louise Lemon Green). Here are the highlights: Disneyland -- awesome, little rainy, bought a jacket, ate the best pinnapple frozen yogurt ever. Thanksgiving Day -- Grandma makes the most delicious food, white elephant BINGO, I won a tiny mirror from China. Next day -- Roger's Gardens, Ruby's Diner, Ruby was delightful as long as she was fed, Gingerbread houses with the niece's, UCLA football with Dad, SuperMex (Mmmmm). Next Day -- Pasadena, Onion Rings, Best Cherry Coke of the year, Dinner with the G-'rents & the 'Rents & Jen, Jen falls asleep in my car and gives me bad directions. Next Day -- Church with my 'Rents, Lunch at a salad buffet, paper shopping with my cousin, reminiscing with my cousin, Dinner with a friend, mystical walk in the fog. Last Day Home -- chatted with my Mom until we had to leave for the airport, In'N'Out, almost missed my flight, thank goodness it was delayed because of intense fog. Those were the highlights. I hope that after the holidays some of my Cali peeps will come to visit, but for now I am counting down the days until I am back there again. 10 more days…dear Lord it's coming too fast.

Disneyland

Soooo………i'm going to the Happiest Place on Earth on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. Everyone should be happy for me, even if you don't want to be. Don't hate. I'm super excited and know that by then I will have minimal mucus. My favorite rides are…Indiana Jones, Space Mountain, the Haunted Mansion, the Jungle Cruise, Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain (so many mountains, California's full of them), and the Matterhorn (another mountain, in fact it's the only ride that has a visible faux mountain, it just not in the name of the ride). My Mom kinda hates the Matterhorn but only because sometimes…when you're on the ride you feel as if whiplash is going to separate your head from the rest of your body, and if you get off the ride and realize that your neck suddenly doesn't feel right just walk it off. Go get yourself a churro or some fresh popcorn. Maybe take it easy on the next ride. Go for Mister Toad's Wild Ride (it's safer) where you get a glimpse of Hell. Or maybe the Alice in Wonderland ride where you feel like your tripping on acid, but you're not. It's just the Magic that you're tripping on, the Magic of the Happiest Place on Earth!
